51³ΙΘΛ expands financial aid benefits for MacMurray transfer students
51³ΙΘΛ is offering additional funding for MacMurray College students who transfer to IC, with a new pledge to match studentsβ expected 2020-2021 charges at MacMurray.
As MacMurray Collegeβs crosstown neighbor, we want to help every student who wants to stay in Jacksonville to continue their education have that opportunity.
The amount of additional financial aid will differ for every student, but for some, it could be up to an additional $4,000. All MacMurray students in good academic and social standing will be accepted to 51³ΙΘΛ.
Evan Wilson '01, dean of admission and student financial services, said ICβs pledge means MacMurray students can anticipate their billed out-of-pocket expense to attend 51³ΙΘΛ to generally be the same as what they planned to pay to attend MacMurray for the upcoming academic year.
βAs MacMurray Collegeβs crosstown neighbor, we want to help every student who wants to stay in Jacksonville to continue their education have that opportunity,β Wilson said. βWe believe the MacMurray students we have been working with have the potential to accomplish great things at 51³ΙΘΛ and we do not want finances to be an obstacle.β
Scholarship and grant money is renewable annually and studentsβ federal financial aid will be based on filing their FAFSA each year.
Since the March 27 announcement that MacMurray College will permanently close its doors at the end of spring semester, I51³ΙΘΛ has been collaborating with MacMurray leadership to develop ways to serve those students affected by the closure.
Additional transfer benefits have been developed to maximize the number of transferable credits, ease the transition and financial burden for students and ensure they graduate on time. Visit for more information.
